Based on the premise that the true Home of the Groove, at least on the North American landmass, is the irreplaceable musical and cultural nexus, New Orleans, Louisiana and environs, this audioblog features rare, hard to find, often forgotten, vintage New Orleans-related R&B and funk records with commentary. Some general knowledge of N.O. music is helpful here, but not required to get your groove on.

Attention, James Booker fans
Note: The Montreux people released a CD of at least part of the performance, if not all of it, some years back; but it is out of print. Maybe Andre should ask them to re-issue that, too.
[See Comments, if you are interested in the concert audio. And thank the Mail Clerk.]
well, the audio can be found...

"Piano Players Never Play Together" is not on dvd either.
ReplyDeleteThat would be another petition I'd sign.
VERY good point, Marco. I don't know what the prospects are, since the director of "Piano Players Rarely Ever Play Together", Stevenson Palfi, committed suicide last year. One would hope the full length version would go to DVD as a tribute to him.
ReplyDeleteAny progress on getting the DVD released?
